null winds is something everyone should know because it makes many shots much easier.

first, all circles have 360 degrees. the wind circle is, duh, a circle with 360 degrees. your angle range is, duh, a circle with 360 degrees (that you cant see because it is limited for every bot, but u get the point)

so, with that in mind, the method is simple:
step 1- look at the wind and ask yourself, "is the wind looking to the opposite side of where you're shooting?" if so, you can use this null wind method.
step 2- look at the wind arrow and figure what degree of the circle is pointing at (for example if its straight up its 90 degrees, if its tail up at the middle its 45 degrees)
step 3- use that angle and the wind will have virtually no effect upon your shot, and it will be like shooting under wind 0

i just dont think people are aware of this method, and if they are, they dont use this method enough. stop trying to do "nice shots" and missing. fuck, just use the null angle...

I understood it, but newer players wont, its an extremely easy concept to learn, but hard to master aside from a few angles and their nulls, for example, for my ice I use angles 80, 70, 58, 43, and 38, and know the null winds for each of those, but not for all the random angles in between.

while we're on this topic, complement this method of null winds with the "equivalent angles" method.
like 50 = 40
if u need an explanation of that post here, im not in the mood to post right now. that way u really only need to know a few angles in wind 0. 30 (=60) 40 (=50) 50 60 70 (=20) 80 (=10) and...then combine both methods

the idea there is completely simple, and can be done with any angle.

You take the angle, and subtract it from 90, the answer will be exactly the same powers for 0 wind, this is EXTREMELY elevation reliant, as most times you'll be using low shot-gunnish angles

To give you an idea, if you would use 45, there is no identical angle, because 90-45=45

Angle 70 would be Angle 20, 90 - 70 = 20

Angle 50 would be 40, 90 - 50 = 40

Ive always kind of bragged about being wtfgood at shotguns, and its because Ive mastered this method top to bottom, with some beastly feel/forming for winds/elevations, to the point where I have every UHA angle counterpart memorized, suchas ice/boomer 1sd "could" be a boring 81 full power, or it could be a slightly less boring 72 2.8, or I could pretend to be a crazy pro at using shotguns by using either angle 9 full power, or angle 18 2.8 bars using this simple method

(90 - 81 = 9 and 90 - 72 = 18, for anyone needing constant explanations)


Like I said with Toms fork to timebomb guide, this information is CRUCIAL to learn to ANY PLAYER, USING ANY BOT, so all lurkers that are new to the game, learn how to use this, its a perfect way to expand a feel users shot possibilities in the simple scenario of...

You're using ice, you know some 0 wind angles for higher angles, ice almost always has angles, right? So, you use angle 70 2.95ish for 1 1/4sd, and some guy kills your basic angle.

The next turn most basic players would spend 2-3 seconds moving to a new hill, re-getting 70, and then reshooting, if it was a fairly flat map you could stay in your new hole, switch right to angle 70 before your turn, and fire off a 2.95 shot with angle 20 in 1 second, and as you move up in the skill levels you learn that everyone will hit almost all shots, its a lucky day if they miss a crucial shot, and delay/strategy becomes more important than "woo I hit my shot"

yes thanks dan for postin. note (dont know if u mentioned it), its only for wind 0 cuz every angle is affected differently by wind. and if ur shotgunning, pay special attention to the origin of the shot and elevation (like ice will change from shot 1 to 2) ok bye

after reading this post yesterday, I had a null wind in-game and actually knew why because of this post. never actually knew this wind existed ... and I may have read it before but just shrugged it off.

yesterday wind was like 23 almost straight up but to the left very little.

I shot with what I thought was an angle adjustment, but realized my shot was off exactly what my adjustment was. So I shot normally and Bam ... Connects.

felt like I learned something ^. ^ obvious to some, but for me, it was nice knowing it was null wind while my enemy just missed every shot "trying to compensate" ... which is what I would normally do also ... instead of just shooting normally.

so basically that game I had 100% health, and well ... he unfortunetly dealt with my kal with dual shot 2 through lightning force :)

Yep, its always a good feeling when you learn little simple things like that that, in the long run, make life a lot easier instead of trying to adjust, seeing a huge wind change and going "thank god this is null" and firing off the exact same shot as a 0 wind in 1 second for great delay/damage

well old interface wind does lie, fuckin sucks (in gbna only really, gis and gls its just fine)

but i recently found that the new interface wind is perfect. just gotta be good at tellin which factor it points at even when it spins.

the power for angle 70 = power for angle 20 method (complement angles? whatever u call it, im not good with names lah)

not only works with vertical winds

it also works with nado.

say a nado right beside you, and 70 2.65 hits. 20 2.65 will also hit.
